standing in the rain,
hey the weather's got to change
can you withstand the pain?
gotta find the strength,

......who can't help but smile
when he feels the sun.

bills to pay, patchwork the rent,
running around, energy spent,
finally home, you hit the floor,
tired as a dog, stare the ceiling some more
......and in the mirror,
......you watch them dreams slip away,
time to feel the sun
feel it reign,
feel it flow
through the blood in your veins.

shining down,
shining through,
melting you away....

there's a roomful of people,
that i used to be,
heaven knows, it's like worn out clothes,
just the river rolling down to the sea,
